IMPLICATIONS

• Costs (estimated - H.S.E. cost/benefit analysis):
  • for active substances - £2 to £3 million;
  • for biocidal products - £10,000 to £125,000 with an average of £75,000;
  • the major cost in each case is for data provision.

• Less choice of active substances for formulators.
  • Many active substances will not be supported through this.
  • Some of these decisions are already being made.
